Let's Dance!

I am so excited to begin a new Bible study this morning with some of my favorite ladies. We meet in one another's homes throughout the year to study and pray. This group is a mix of ladies of all ages in all stages. I learn so much from their wisdom, experiences, and passion. This morning we are breaking out our "dancin' shoes" to begin this study:

As I was praying early this morning, I asked God to lead me in the dance. That He would show me the steps, one by one, until it's memorized. Not that it would become routine. Routine trusts too much in ourselves. But that His faithfulness and character would be something I would consistently trust. So often in our lives, we try to take the lead, which only leads us to destruction. To trust His plan, His timing, and His character completely means allowing Him to take the lead. Otherwise, we've got nothing but two left feet, and we're tripping through life. I have no idea if today's dance will be a waltz, a tango, or a jitterbug. I kinda like to just "rock out." Whatever the dance, this wallflower is putting on her shoes, because she's been invited to dance with the King. As He leads, I will follow. The dance floor is His to control.

"Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing." Psalm 143:10 (NLT)
